Happy New Year!

Antes que nada, y aunque sea con algo de retraso, feliz año nuevo a todos: espero que el 2014 os traiga muchas cosas buenas; yo, por mi parte, me seguiré dejando caer por vuestras pantallas mientras pueda seguir compaginándolo con mis estudios.

Aprovechando que cambiamos de año vamos un look algo diferente a lo que me soléis ver. Ya sabéis que la moda del running ha venido para quedarse y las zapatillas, lejos de limitarse a su aspecto más deportivo, han aumentado nuestras opciones a la hora de completar nuestros outfits en clave casual. Espero que os guste!

First of all , and in spite of the delay, I wanna wish a happy new year: i hope 2014 brings a lot of good things to you...as i'm concerned, i will keep on occupying your screens as long as i can combine blog and studies.

Since we're just beginning a new year i'd like to show something different. You know that running is here to stay and sneakers, beyond its sports use, have increased our options when to create a casual outfit. I hope you like it!

Delicate...not at all!

Una de las tendencias más repetidas esta temporada, a raíz de las propuestas de Marc Jacobs, ha sido la lencera. Encajes por doquier en vestidos, faldas y shorts. La gracia está en enseñar sólo parte y el resto ocultarlo bajo un cárdigan o jersey de punto rústico que contrarresten lo delicado de estas prendas. He buscado el vestido perfecto, pero al que no le fallaba la tela, la tira encaje se la habían hecho muy estrecha...así que al final me decidí por esta falda. Éste fue mi outfit para la comida de Navidad: espero que os guste!

One of the more repeated trends this season, following proposals by Marc Jacobs, is the lingerie inspiration. Lace in every dress, skirt or short. The key is to show just the ornate strip and hide the rest under a cardigan o jersey in order to balance the delicacy of this kind of garments. I've looked for the perfect dress but they all had some mistake, like the fabric or the amount of lace, so I finally bought that cute mini skirt. This was mi Christmas' outfit: i hope you like it!

It feels like Christmas!

Un outfit más arreglado que los que os venía enseñando últimamente y que puede dar alguna idea para la cantidad de comidas y cenas que están por venir...sé que es un "topicazo" hablar cada año por estas fechas de este tipo de eventos, pero si a alguien le ayuda ahí va mi propuesta: un vestido lady en encaje y mi adorada biker para romper. Las sandalias en estampado de pitón aportan la dosis justa de color. Espero que os guste!

A more polished outfit than the ones i've been showing lately and that can give you some ideas for the big amount of lunches and dinners...ok, i know it's a cliche to talk every year at this time about this kind of events, but in case it's useful for anybody this is my proposal: a lady-like lace dress and my beloved biker to make contrast. Snake-printed sandals give the required dose of color. I hope you like it!

El Capricho

Estoy desarrollando una creciente debilidad por el vestuario masculino, siempre me ha atraído muchísimo el adaptar sus prendas a mi estilo, pero es que ahora se me van los ojos detrás de cada abrigo de cortes limpios y proporciones oversize que encuentro. Éste es de Zara y está en más colores...en verde es también precioso. Por cierto, las fotos las hicimos en El Capricho, un jardín maravilloso del que oí hablar por primera vez cuando Josep Font hizo su debut en DelPozo, y del que me recomendaron su visita recientemente: poco a poco voy conociendo rinconcitos de Madrid.

Al hilo de los abrigos masculinos, me gustaría destacar el vestuario de una serie a la que seguro muchos seguís la pista: Boardwalk Empire. El argumento en sí no me llama mucho, pero el diseño llevado a cabo por John Dunn para cada uno de los personajes es sencillamente fabuloso. Os dejo algunos ejemplos y espero que os guste!

I am developing a growing fondness for menswear, it's true that i've always been attracted to adapting their clothes to my style, but now i'm like out of control and i die for every single straight and oversize coat i see. Mine is from Zara and you can find it in different colors...green version is really beautiful too. By the way, we took these pics in El Capricho, a garden i had heard about for the first time when Josep Font debuted in DelPozo and that i was recommended to go recently: little by little i manage to discover Madrid secrets.

Related to man coats, I'd like to highlight a series i'm pretty sure you know: Boardwalk Empire. I'm not really interested in its plot but its wardrobe. The design work arranged by John Dunn is just fabulous. Here some examples that i hope you love as much as i do. Enjoy it!

Born in the 80's

La palabra clásico para mí, lejos de cualquier connotación negativa, supone que algo ha ido superando épocas y modas, su perfección y fuerza resiste a las meras tendencias. Así ocurre con el estampado pata de gallo, un esencial en cualquier armario que este año ha vuelto con fuerza por enésima vez: realmente nunca se fue, pero es que esta temporada está en todas partes. La clave es llevarlo de una forma que lo renueve, como en este pañuelo reversible que mezcla este mítico print con el tartán. Espero que os guste!

The word classic to me, instead of having a negative touch, means that something has achieved to overcome times and fashions: its perfection and strength resist the mere trends. This happens for example with houndstooth pattern, which comes back every season, but this year has even a bigger presence. They key is to use it in a new way, like my reversible double-printed scarf. I hope you like it!

Mi look Aldomartins streetstyle

Recientemente os hablé de la presentación que llevó a cabo Aldomartins en The Patio, y hoy os muestro una de sus prendas con una propuesta de estilismo. Creo que ya os dije que las piezas de abrigo me impactaron muchísimo: hacen el looks por sí mismas. Con unos estampados y colores preciosos como mejor funcionan es con prendas neutras. ¿No os encanta el resultado?

I'm pretty sure i told you that outwear was my favorite: they make the look by themselves. Wonderful prints and cute colors which only need neutral garments to look perfect. Don't you love it?

Rock star

Estaba agotadísimo y con la "etiqueta online" de back soon permanentemente pero, después de innumerables visitas a todos los Zaras de Madrid, al fin di con él. Vestido largo, de flores y con transparencias...tenía que ser mío. Espero que os guste cómo lo he combinado con mi nueva perfecto - sí otra!-, también llevaba mucho tiempo tras esta prenda, buscando una en negro que reuniera todas mis preferencias.

It was totally sold out and 'back soon' labelled in their web but, after many visits to every single Zara in Madrid, I've got it. Long flowered see-through dress...it had to be mine! I hope you like the way I wore it: I matched with my new perfecto jacket. I know, i know, i'm kinda obsessed with this kind of garment but I've been looking so much time for the perfect black perfecto!
